Oh man that sucks. *hugs you* I hope something turns up out of the blue and in a year's time you'll be saying hey getting laid off was the best thing that could have happened. I will be thinking of you.
*points at the icon* Have some chocolate. Everything is better with chocolate.
Oh and um hi, it's Joe, I didn't announce the name change on my IJ only the LJ so you probably missed it.
Thanks sweetie. I'm still in shock more than anything at the moment but I have to have faith that it'll all work out for the best eventually.
Yes, chocolate is good... I just finished off some cookies the middle preggy Spawn made for Halloween and decaf coffee.
I am on your wonderful hubby's LJ accounts and he posted a link to this. This is not necessarily a bad thing, although I am sure it seems like that at the moment. If your laid off, you will get unemployment benefits starting almost immediately, sign up for them now. Also, did you really love your job? Is it something that you want to continue to do in the future? If yes, then what sort of job training (the state will pay for this, part of the governments plan to get us all retrained or get additional training), would you need to get a better paying job in your field? If not, what do you want to do, seriously? I got laid off over a year ago, got enrolled in school, my particular state has a $5000 cap, but that covers a lot of my job retraining.
Get lots of hugs from your kiddos and your wonderful hubby. Take some time to figure out what you want to do next and then go for it. Just so you know I am 52 and was in my particular field for over 30 years when I got laid off. I am still in my field, just working on getting more certification so that I will get a better job, one that they won't ship off to India.
I am jullia_starz on LJ, I thought I was on insane journal, but can't find my password for it! I posted the above. *hugs*
I'm so sorry.
BIG HUGS. ~dbmyrrha
Hon, I'm so sorry! I can't imagine, you've been there for so long. Sending hugs to you and lighting a candle for the Gods to tell you what you're supposed to be doing next (and to help you get there).
Here is hoping that you find a better place with better money and a shorter commute.
May this be an opportunity for you to find a door open instead of one closing. HUGS AND LOVE TO YOU KAT and feel free to take out your frustration on my Hydra. :P -Lisa

*gator watching over you right now* Many Hugs. Sign up for unemployment like NOW. Over the internets is actually pretty darn quick. Budget better than before. Depending on your situation at home, check out now for local food pantry, like mine just does some few, little basics in canned goods, but it helps a little (and I always make a small donation, as well).
Think of it this way, you can spend more time with spawning Spawn, especially after the spawnlette comes. HUGS again.
